Elizabeth McMaster was born in 1860 in New Zealand – the daughter of Hugh McMaster and Mary.
She married Robert Nye, a coal carter, in 1888 and they had two children.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Green Island, near Dunedin.
Elizabeth died on 7 December 1928 and Robert died in Oamaru in 1936 – they are buried together in the Green Island Cemetery.
