Priscilla Prince was born about 1827 in Farnham, Surrey, England – the daughter of Daniel Prince, a gardener, & Elizabeth.

She married George Duke, a bricklayer, in Middlesex in 1849.

They had 10 children, two of who died in infancy.

The family emigrated to Otago in 1872 on the May Queen & settled in Dunedin.

George died in 1890 and Priscilla died at Invercargill on 18 November 1898.

They are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
