Eliza Ann Caroline Ruston was born in Victoria, Australia in 1861 – the daughter of James Ruston, a lighterman, and Selina Bray. (See 154 Selina Ruston)
She came to Otago with her family in 1862 and they settled in Dunedin.
Eliza married William Henry Parker, a clerk, on 9 August 1879 and they had six children.
When Eliza signed the suffrage petition they were living in Selwyn, North East Valley.
William died in 1930 and Eliza died at her daughter’s home in Dunedin on 1 August 1941 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
