Annie Banks was born about 1866. She married John Dick Poppleton, a driver, in 1892.
The marriage did not appear to go well: in October 1894, John advertised in the newspaper that he would not be responsible for any debts his wife may contract.
John married again in 1901 and in 1903, Annie took him to court for bigamy.
The case fell through due to a legal technicality as the marriage certificate had only been signed by the Deputy Registrar.
Annie married Henry Matthew Todd in January of 1908. She died six months later 17 on July 1908 at Palmerston North.
She is buried in the Terrace End Cemetery, Palmerston North.
