Annie Maria Terrill was born in 1871 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of John Austin Willoughby Terrill and Phillipa Austin.
She married, hair dresser, John Wentworth Raffills on 8 February 1888 at her home in Napier.
They had six children, one was stillborn and another died in early childhood. By the time that Annie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in George St, Dunedin.
John died in 1933 and Annie died on 26 January 1958 – they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
