Mary Ann Canavan was born about 1847. She married Charles Alexander Restieaux, a storekeeper, in 1864 in New Zealand.
They had six children and when Mary signed the suffrage petition, the family were living in Filleul St, Dunedin.
Mary died on 28 November 1907 and Charles died in 1914. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
