Jane Russell was born about 1838 in Scotland.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her husband John Rowland, a farmer, in Palmerston in North Otago.
Jane died at her home on April 25th 1916 and John died in 1922. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
