Janet Robertson was born about 1865 – she married Samuel Elliott on 9 October 1889 in Dunedin and they had four children.
When Janet signed the suffrage petition they were living in Cargill Rd, South Dunedin.
A short time after they moved to Houipapa in the Catlins where they had a farm.
While they were there their only son Arthur died, aged five years.
They also lived in Stirling in South Otago before retiring to Mosgiel where Samuel died in 1933.
Janet died on 22 October 1949 at Owaka, she is buried in the Owaka Cemetery with Samuel and Arthur.
