Sarah Jane Maberly was born Sarah Jane Bennington on 10 October 1864, Lyttleton to John Bennington and Sarah Jane Smith.
Sarah married Joseph Maberly on 10 September 1884 at Christchurch.
In the 1893 and 1896 electoral rolls for Waitaki Sarah and Joseph were living in Waimate.
They had six children; Ethel Maude born 1890, Minnie born 1893, Mabel born 1894, Harold Ernest born 1896, Florence Edith born 1897 and Arnold John born 1905.
In 1914 Sarah, Joseph and their daughter Minnie were living at 16 Earls Terrace, Wellington East.
In 1919 Sarah was living at Atkinson Road, New Lynn, Auckland.
In 1925 Sarah and Joseph were living in Atkinson Road, Titirangi, Auckland.
Sarah Jane died on 8 September 1926 age 62 years and is buried in Waikumete cemetery along with her husband Joseph who died on 7 November 1939 age 84 years. They are buried in the Presbyterian section Block D, Row 7, Plot 28. Joseph’s occupation was Builder.
