Catherine Moore/Moir was born about 1833 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
She married Alexander Sharp/Sharpe on 8 December 1862 and they had one son before they emigrated to New Zealand about 1864.
They had a further six children and when Catherine signed the suffrage petition they were living in Clinton in South Otago.
Alexander worked as a labourer for the Clinton Town Board – he died suddenly in 1898 and is buried in the Clinton Cemetery.
Catherine moved to Dunedin in the early 1910s where she died on 15 September 1913, she is buried with their son William in the Southern Cemetery.
