Agnes Langmuir was born in 1841 in New South Wales – the daughter of William Langmuir, a gardener, and Margaret Baylor. (See 40 Margaret Langmuir)
She went to Victoria with her family before they sailed for Otago on the Ceylon in 1863.
Agnes married taxidermist William Smyth at her home in Caversham on 7 January 1873 and they had five children.
When Agnes signed the suffrage petition they were living in Alexandra St, Caversham.
William died on 2 September 1913 and Agnes died shortly after on 30 September – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
