Sarah was born about 1854 in Ireland and she was married to Thomas Armstrong who was born in Glasgow, Scotland.
They emigrated to New Zealand about 1881 and had two children after their arrival.
When Sarah signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Gladstone Rd, North East Valley and Thomas was working as a gardener.
Sarah died at their home on 5 April 1917 - Thomas remarried in 1923 and he died in 1937.
Sarah and Thomas are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
