Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Margaret McKenzie was born about 1852 in Scotland.
She came to New Zealand in the 1870s and she married George Webster, a miller, on 20 July 1880 in Dunedin.
They had five children, one who died in infancy, and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition they were living in Opoho, Dunedin.
George died in 1901 and Margaret died at her daughter’s home on 30 October 1932 – they are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
