Rachel Jane (known as Jane) Clarke was born about 1860 – she married Robert Wilson, a cabinetmaker, in 1885 in New Zealand.

They had, at least seven children, two who died in infancy, and when Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cargill Rd, South Dunedin.

They later moved to Nelson St, South Dunedin where Jane died on 25 August 1908, she is buried with three of her children in the Southern Cemetery.

Robert died in 1926 when he threw himself under a train, he is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
