Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Ellen/Nellie Anderson Gardiner was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of David Gardiner, a farmer, and Janet Dickson.

When Nellie signed the suffrage petition she was living, presumably on the family farm, at Gore.

She married, fellow New Zealander, William Reid Cameron on 30 October 1909 at St Andrew’s Church in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

William and his brothers were sheep farmers at Santa Cruz and they had one daughter.

Their death date and location is unknown.
