Nellie Jane Fordham was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of Thomas Richard Fordham, a lighterman and boatman, and Ellen Symes. (See 341 Ellen Fordham)
When Nellie signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Campbeltown near Bluff.
She married Stephen Noble Wilson, a telegraph lineman, on 25 July 1894 at the Primitive Methodist Church, Bluff – they had two children.
Nellie died at Invercargill on 7 December 1935 and Stephen died in 1942, they are buried in the family grave in the Bluff Cemetery.
