Olive Hannah Clark was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of Samuel Marshall Clark, a school master, and Helena Lydia Carpenter. 

When Olive signed the suffrage petition she was living in Stuart St, Dunedin. 

She married baker John Oliver in 1893 and they had three daughters. 

John died in 1923 and Olive died at her home on 16 January 1941 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
