Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Phedora Louisa Jane Heaslop was born about 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of Emily Annie Heaslop and step daughter of Luke John Allen, a farmer.

She married Rev Andrew Henderson Wallace on 21 October 1889 at Challow Dean in Dunedin and they had three children, one who died in infancy.

When Phedora signed the suffrage petition they were living in Clyde Street, Dunedin.

They lived in Gisborne and Gore before returning to Dunedin where they celebrated their Silver Wedding anniversary in 1914.

Andrew died in 1939 and Phedora died on 11 November 1952 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
