Mary Elizabeth Aitken, known as Polly was born in New Zealand in 1871 – the daughter of Alexander Aitken, a blacksmith, and Elizabeth Harvie. (See 59 Mrs Aitken)

When Polly signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Athol Place, Dunedin.

She married Frank Wilkinson, a machinist, on 14 November 1899 and they had one daughter.

Polly died on 23 January 1841 in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Australia, she was cremated. Frank’s date and place of death is unknown.
