Rebecca Panckhurst was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of David Panckhurst, a miner, and Mary Ann McKinlay. (See 246 M Panckhurst)
Rebecca grew up in Greymouth and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family at South Beach.
On 18 May 1904 Rebecca married sailmaker, William James Wilson at the Wesleyan Church. This was a double wedding, Rebecca’s sister Rachel was also married on the same day.
Rebecca and William lived in Westport where Rebecca died on 5 November 1933 at the Buller Hospital – she is buried in the Orowaiti Cemetery.
Her obituary said she 'was prominent in Methodist Church work at both Greymouth and Westport.'
When William died is unknown.
