Rachael Jane Drummond was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Duncan Drummond, a carpenter, and Rachel Crawford.
When Rachael signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family at Dunback on the 'Pigroot' route to Central Otago.
She married John McGregor on 20 April 1893 and they had six children and lived at Waikouaiti, north of Dunedin.
Rachael died on 23 January 1939 in Auckland and John died in 1953 – they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
