Rebecca Fergusson Bett was born in 1869 in New Zealand, the daughter of Robert Bett, a blacksmith, and Mary Burnett.
Her father died in 1873, and after his death her mother opened a boarding house in Marton. When Rebecca signed the suffrage petition they were living in High Street, Marton and she was working as a dressmaker.
Rebecca married John Collins, a surfaceman, in 1920.
When Rebecca died on July 3rd 1968 in Whanganui she was as widow. Her place of burial is unknown.
