Agnes Somerville Callander was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Callender, a farmer, and Barbara Graham Law. (See 162 Mrs A Callander)
She married John Law Christie, a labourer, on 11 September 1889 in the East Taieri Parish and they had eight children.
When Agnes signed the suffrage petition the family were farming in Puerua in South Otago.
Agnes died at their home 'Grand View' on 7 February 1925 and John died in 1943 in Balclutha, they are buried together in the Romahapa Cemetery.
