S. A. Frisby

Biographical information provided by Briar Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:

Sarah Ann Corbett was the daughter of Edward Corbett and Isabella Sawley and was born in Leicester England. She travelled to New Zealand with her family on the British Empire in 1864 when she was 10 years old. She married Arthur Frisby (son of William Frisby and Rebekah Chamberlain) on 27 December 1870 in St John the Baptist Church in Christchurch. They had twelve children. Sarah’s sister, Isabella Corbett married Arthur’s brother, William Frisby in 1879. Sarah died 31 July 1928, aged 74.
