Sarah Kidson was born about 1840 in Buckinghamshire, England – the daughter of John Kidson, a waterman, and Amelia Tuck.
In 1841 the family boarded the Bolton bound for Nelson.
Sarah married Edward Goodall, a mariner, at her home in Nelson on 7 August 1861.
They had 10 children and when Sarah signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Greymouth.
Sarah’s daughter in law Margaret also signed the petition (see 534 M A Goodall)
Edward died in 1909 and Sarah died at her daughter’s home in Greymouth on 1 July 1925 – they are buried together in the Karoro Cemetery.
