Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Sarah Louisa Ann Wiseman was born in 1868 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of George Wiseman and Mary Ann Reynolds. (See 101 M A Wiseman)

A couple of years after her birth she sailed for Otago with her family. They returned to Victoria one more time before settling in Port Chalmers, near Dunedin.

Sarah’s father died in 1877 and when she signed the petition she was living with her family in Constitution St, Port Chalmers working as a sempstress.

She married John Stancliffe Campbell, a clerk, in 1897 and they had one daughter.

John died in 1935 and Sarah died at her home on 3 June 1939 – they were both cremated and their ashes scattered.
