Sarah Maria GLOVER nee ARNOLD b. 28 May 1857 in Hartshill, Warwickshire. She emigrated to NZ with 6 siblings, her mother Ann and stepfather William Henry BISHOP on the Mataura arr. Napier 9 Nov. 1877. Sarah married John GLOVER 1858-1943 in Bulls on 8 July 1880. John was a blacksmith, coachbuilder and religious extremist of Primitive Methodist persuasion. The couple moved to Campbelltown in early 1890. John was a major employer in the township (Rongotea from 1895), but not well liked. Sarah and John's sons were within a circle that burned down local Lutheran churches ("German"; but in fact mainly Scandinavian) during WW1. Sarah died of Parkinson's disease 22 Nov 1920. 7 or 8 ch.
