Selina Evans was born in Aldham, Essex, England in 1852 – the daughter of William Evans, a thatcher, and Maria Hermon.
She married John Paskell, a carpenter, on 13 January 1878 and a few weeks later they emigrated to Otago on the Glendarnel.
They did not have any children and they settled in Milton where Selina signed the suffrage petition.
John died in Milton in 1926, he is buried in the Fairfax Cemetry, Milton.
Selina later moved to Palmerston North where she died on 10 December 1932, she is buried in the Kelvin Grove Cemetery, Palmerston North.
