Sarah Anne Thompson was born in 1869 in Invercargill – the daughter of Thomas Johnson Thompson, a shipwright and mariner, and Christiana Gotze. (See 341 C Thompson)
When she signed the suffrage petition Sarah was living in Bluff.
She did not marry and when she died at Riverton on 25 October 1960 her occupation was given as 'retired nurse'.
She is buried in the family grave in the Bluff Cemetery.
