Sarah Hart King was born in 1873 in Dunedin – the daughter of Alexander King, a shopkeeper, and Margaret Hart. (See 137 Margaret King)

When Sarah signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Main Rd, North East Valley, Dunedin.

She married John Donaldson Tully, a dredge worker and blacksmith, in 1906.

They had two daughters and lived in Cromwell where John died in 1936, he is buried in the Cromwell Cemetery.

Sarah died on 15 September 1959 in Invercargill, she is buried in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
