Sarah Annie Wenlock was born about 1849, she married Joseph Bowcott, a labourer, in Dunedin on 2 June 1877.
They had three children and when Sarah signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Calder St, North East Valley, Dunedin.
Sarah died on 21 April 1903 and Joseph died in 1912, they are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
