Sarah Dellow was born Sarah Ann Fowler was born April 1845 in Royston, Essex. England to Jesse Fowler and his wife Lydia Clark.
In 1864 Sarah Fowler married Henry Dellow in Great Chishill, Essex, England.
Sarah, Henry and one son came to New Zealand on the ship Rakaia arriving in Lyttelton on 25 April 1874.
Sarah and Henry had seven children.
The 1911 electoral roll records Sarah and Henry living at 16 Hughes street, Waimate.
Henry was a gardener at the Public Hospital, a position he held for 20 years.
Two sons, Albert and George Dellow served in WW1.
Sarah Ann Dellow died on 20 April 1895, age 48 years. She is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery, Free Ground, Plot 000329.
Henry Dellow died on 30 July 1913 age 75 years and is buried with his wife in the Waimate Old cemetery, Free Ground, Plot 000329. A white cross marks their grave site.
Sarah’s daughter-in-law, Sarah Ann Dellow also signed the Petition – Sheet 235.
