Sarah Hogg was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of Thomas Hogg, a carter, and Mary Mooney. (See 60 Mary Hogg)

When Sarah signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Castle St, Dunedin.

She married George Robert Farrell, a seaman, in 1893 and they had a daughter the same year.

George disappears from the records after this time, Sarah continued to live at Castle Street in the late 1890s but she also disappears from sight.

Their daughter died in Palmerston, North Otago in 1919, she is buried with her grandparents in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
