Sarah McCloskie was born on 7 October 1858 in Launceston, Tasmania, the daughter of William McCloskie and Margaret Burns.
She came to New Zealand with her family in 1863 and settled in Romahapa in South Otago.
She married Peter Robertson, a farmer, at Port Molyneux on 27 March 1884. They had five children and farmed at Puerua.
Peter died in 1922 and Sarah died on 14 April 1923. They are both buried in the Warepa Cemetery.
