Sarah Symonds, died 2 July 1923 aged 73 years. She died at her daughter’s residence, Mrs F Robinson. 

Woodville Examiner reports: 'Mrs Symonds gave willingly of her services to many institutions in the town and many residents have grateful memories of her kindly help in sickness and troubles. It will be remembered that the late Mr Symonds was killed on the railway line some 9-10 years ago. After his death Mrs Symonds spent most of her time with her two daughters, Mrs O H Somerville (Wellington) and Mrs F Robinson (previously Scorgie)(Palmerston North) The deceased lady was a valued member of the Holy Trinity Church Ladies Guild since its inception.'
