Sarah Isabella Lyttle was born about 1858 in Seagahan, County Armargh, Ireland – the daughter of David Lyttle and Frances Ann.
She emigrated to Otago in 1883 on the Victory accompanied by her brother and sister.
Sarah married William Young, a farmer, on 16 July 1885 in Dunedin.
They had six children and lived at Waikaka, near Gore, where Sarah signed the suffrage petition.
William died in 1898 and Sarah died on 31 May 1908 – they are buried together in the Gore Cemetery.
