Annie Simpson was born about 1862. 

She was married to James Simpson, a carter. They had at least nine children, two of who died in infancy.

When Annie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Clarendon St, Dunedin.

James died in 1935 and Annie died on 2 April 1936. They are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
