Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Susanna/Susan Bradley was born in 1857 in New Zealand – the daughter of Thomas Bradley, a station master, and Margaret Bennett.
She married Thomas Spargoe Edwards , a railway officer, in 1878 and they had six children.
When Susan signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Palmerston, north of Dunedin where Thomas was the station master.
They later moved to Nelson where Thomas died in 1922 and Susan died at her home on 30 April 1944.
They are buried together in the Wakapuaka Cemetery, Nelson.
