Susannah/Susan Colbourne was born about 1845 in England.

She arrived in New Zealand about 1868 and married Robert Wright in 1871.

They had seven children and lived in Elm Row, Dunedin, before moving to Royal Terrace in the 1880s. They later moved to Outram on the Taieri Plain near Dunedin where they ran an orchard.

Robert died in 1907 and Susan died on 6 February 1920 at her home 'Mahantaki', Outram.

They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
