Thyrza Heyward Mann was born in Geelong, Victoria, Australia – the daughter of Thomas Mann and Susan Heyward.
She came to Otago with her family about 1862 and they settled in Dunedin.
She married William Tinnock, a storeman, in 1882 and they had a daughter the following year.
When Thyrza signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cumberland St.
William died in 1930 and Thyrza died on 31 August 1942, they are buried with their daughter in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
