Annie Wimpenny was born in Batley, Yorkshire in 1867 – the daughter of William Wimpenny, a blacksmith, & Martha Elizabeth Spencer.
Annie’s mother died in 1874 & later that year he married Charlotte Dransfield. (See 29 Mrs Wimpenny)
Annie emigrated to New Zealand about 1880 with her family & settled in Dunedin.
When she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cashel St, South Dunedin.
Annie married Thomas Stanley Hopkins, a motorman, in 1901 & they had 3 children.
Annie died on 3 October 1927, she is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery. Thomas died in 1948, he was cremated & his ashes scattered.
