Locality on the stream of the same name in the north-eastern foothills of the Kakanui Mountains, 25km west of Ōamaru.
Meaning of place nameNamed after stream which presumably was known for its Fuchsia trees, in turn named after the German scientist Leonhart Fuchs (1501-1566)
