The Stoke memorial gates includes plaques with names of those who died in the First and Second World Wars.
The memorial was unveiled at the entrance to the Marsden Recreational Ground by the Bishop of Nelson in 1924.
The gates were designed by Messrs. Houlker and Rix- Trott; the ironwork was carried out by Mr. W. B. Heath, and the masonry by Mr. Vass. The grounds were laid out on plans prepared by Mr. W. C.
