Boer War Veteran - born 1881? NewZealand? - died St George Queensland Australia June 2 1957 aged 76 (I was aged 12) & Is buried there, Anglican Section of local cemetery. Has Australian War Graves older style Marble headstone. Recorded on headstone as 7th NZ Mounted Rifles. Thorough gentleman, fondly remembered, great Friend of my Dad. Universally known as SILVER McLACHLAN which is also recorded on his headstone. Know virtually nothing else of him, almost forgotten, but not quite. He is buried not far from my Dad - both will have red & white (for St George) Grevillias for tomorrow, Anzac Day. I won't be there, St George is 400km west of Toowoomba Queensland where I reside.
