The Incholme War Memorial at Kauru Hill, North Otago, is unusual in that it has no names recorded upon it. However the members of the Dunedin Family History Group have written a useful article about the memorial and added a list of those WWI casualties known to have have enlisted from the distcts of Kauru, Incholme and Maraeweka or had families living in those districts at the time of their enlistment. They acknowledge there may be others not known to date. Sadly, a number of the men listed were brothers, with several families losing two sons and one unfortunate family three of their boys.
