Elizabeth Sharp (nee Southam) was born in June 1834 in Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire, England. In August 1854, she married Henry Sharp in Blockley, Worcestershire, England. They emigrated to NZ aboard 'Hindostan', with their nine children, arriving in Port Chalmers on 13 May 1874. She died in 1918 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery. She is my husband's great-great-grandmother.
Elizabeth's daughters, Kate (Mrs Leith , Sheet 62), Harriet (Mrs Higginson, Sheet 35), and Althea (Mrs Griffiths, Sheet 71), and daughter-in-law, Annie (Annie Sharp, Sheet 40) also signed the Petition.
