Charlotte Worsdell (known as Lottie) was born on 11 October 1870 in St. Olave, London, England a daughter of George and Fanny (nee Simpkins).
Lottie arrived in Otago on 20 January 1875 on the sailing ship Wild Deer with her mother Fanny Worsdell and six siblings Agnes, Bess, Anne, Katie, Fanny and Edward. They were joining her father George who had arrived in Dunedin in 1874.
Lottie attended Miss McLauchlin’s School (Dunedin), North East Valley School, Oamaru South School, and George Street School (Dunedin).
Lottie joined the Salvation Army in 1898 and resigned in 1905 as her health was troubling her.
On 16 January 1915 she married Joseph McFadden, a widower with four young children, in Blenheim and they continued to live in Blenheim. Joseph died on 11 November 1946 and Lottie died on 24 November 1960.
Lottie and Joseph did not have any children.
