Janet Carlyle (1859 - 1932) was born in Torphichen, Scotland, and came to Otago with her family as a one year old in 1860. She lived with her parents in Mosgiel, where she signed the Petition, until in 1912 at the age of 53 she married Thomas Miller, and moved to Waimate, South Canterbury. She died there in 1932. She had no children.
