Mrs J Fairbairn was the wife of James Fairbairn, who farmed on Otago Peninsula.
He was a son of Thomas & Elizabeth Fairbairn, early settlers who established Highcliff farm on the Otago Peninsula.
Her name was Amelia Casson Fairbairn, née Rough. She had twelve children, and died in 1910.
