Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Isabella Munro was born about 1853 in Scotland. On 6 June 1873 she married  William Kennedy, a carpenter, and emigrated to New Zealand about 1874.

They had 13 children, three dying in infancy. Her last child was born in 1893 around the time she would have signed the suffrage petition.

The family lived, for a time, in Canongate St, before moving to South Dunedin about 1892.

Isabella died on 15 August 1928 and William died in 1931. They are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.

Appreciated information about my virtually unknown great-grandmother. Makes 4 generations living in South Dunedin for at least part of their lives.
